Kwame Amoah
University of Ghana
Profile
Kwame Amoah is a current student at the University of Ghana and the founder of the University of Ghana Astronomy Club, the first of its kind on campus. His academic interests centre on astrophysics and cosmology, particularly the origins of the universe and the use of mathematics and observational data to understand it. He also holds interest in quantum computing and its applications to astrophysical research. He has hosted events through the club since January 2025.
Why they were listed
Kwame Amoah founded and launched the first ever Astronomy Club at the University of Ghana, opening a space on campus that did not exist before. In a country where astronomy and space science remain largely outside mainstream student interest, starting that conversation at the tertiary level is a meaningful act. His interests span astrophysics, cosmology, and quantum computing, fields that represent the frontier of human knowledge, and he is doing the rare thing of pursuing them seriously while still a student.
How they were identified
